Yeah, IGES import is NOT the most reliable.

Have you tried to ANFWRIT and read in the combined geometry to exorcise
the demons?

Just brain drizzling here: read it into UG or something, clean it up,
and bring it back into Ansys. Or do the same in WORKBENCH?

The existing model is a V11 model. I forgot to mention earlier, that
the geometry in question was created by combining 2 existing FEA models
by importing a .cdb file. I used the 'anf' option, and let Ansys
automatically offset the input values, as well as trying to manually
offset the values prior to importing.

The problem is that the error doesn't occur consistently. I worked on
the model for a few days until I got the first error message, but was
still able to create areas in other parts of the model. I've deleted &
recreated the lines which originally were causing the problem, only to
have the same error occur in another portion of the model.
