Dear Andrej,
I asked the same question to ansys support people and they say EGEN
facility will be available in workbench-12(going to release in Feb.-09).
Till today as far as I know you need to model and mesh 1 part in WB and
take it to classic to use EGEN command. I don't know much about 11sp1
but in WB-11 and lower we can't use EGEN.

Subject: [Xansys] [WB] Copying the mesh

Dear Sirs,

I would again need some suggestions regarding the Workbench basics:

Is it possible to copy a finite element mesh in Workbench (in the
Simulation module)?

It is no problem to copy the geometry in the Design Modeler (for example

using pattern option). What about copying the finite element mesh to
assure the identical distribution of the finite elements in all
symmetric sectors?

Since I didn't find any direct way I also tried to include the Command
Object to the body parent tree (Preprocessing Commands) and using EGEN
apdl command, but the mesh is not copied. Interestingly, if I write out
the corresponding inp file (under Tools/Write Out Ansys Input File), the

input file works fine in Ansys Classic. But as pointed out above, adding

Command Object to the WB model branch has no effect to the finite
element mesh inside the WB environment. Any suggestions?

Thank you in advance.
