Have you tried adjusting the contact stiffness manually? I wonder if ANSYS is internally multiplying the default stiffness by a factor when bonded is specified (In the same way that it decreases the stiffness when plasticity is present. I have checked all the information I have and can't find anything stated on what happens when bonded is specified).
