Look at the cdwrite command.

Subject: [Xansys] WB-style input file written from Ansys Classic?

Hi there.

I'm looking for an option to write a _complete_ input file in Ansys Classic incl. nodes and elements, like Workbench does when calling the solver in batch mode (file.dat by default).
The aim is to be independent from the db-file in Classic and let the resume-command go just by writing out nodes and elements along with commands for the solver etc. as it is done in Workbench-Dat-File:

******************************************************************
nblock,3
(1i8,3e20.9e3)
1 1.276836228E+002 4.856000000E+002 5.352680549E+002
2 1.286587156E+002 5.054484709E+002 5.352680549E+002
...
******************************************************************

and, respectively

******************************************************************
com,*********** Elements for Part 2 ***********
et,2,187
eblock,10
(15i8)
5400 2 2 2 0 12115 12869 12116 13903 18469
18470 16314 22351 25720 22352
5401 2 2 2 0 12071 13961 12844 12845 22444
25721 18418 18419 25722 18581
...
*******************************************************************

So I don't want to build up the model from scratch via APDL each time, because all the preprocessing (especially meshing) is done already.

I know this type of solver-instruction from other codes like MSC Mentat.
Is there something similar in Ansys Classic?

Kind regards.

Arne
