Subject: [ANSYS/LS DYNA] Missile penetration

Dear group members,



I want to perform numerical simulation on the perforation of reinforced concrete targets by high velocity missile. The missile penetrates and passes through a target reinforced concrete slab, indeed three of them. ANSYS/LS DYNA is available in the university currently. I wonder whether ANSYS/LS DYNA can perform the simulation satisfactorily. The matter of importance in this simulation will be the damage pattern, i.e. the shape of crater in the entrance and exit regions on the reinforced concrete target. Additionally can I simulate the fracture and fragmentation of concrete? The papers I have read convinced me that these simulations can be done with codes like LS DYNA and AUTODYN. What about ANSYS/LS DYNA?



Any informative comments will be highly appreciated.
