Hi Kamalakar,

It's been awhile since I've done this, but I believe CDWRIT should
maintain solid model and FEA connectivity. Are you sure you have it in
the first place? Do a CDWRIT of one model and do a /CLEAR and read it
back in - is the connectivity still there?

Read the help on the command - you may need to issue it in the command
line versus the menu. Make sure you are writing out everything.
I just did a test case and it worked fine typing CDWRIT

That being said there are times when .dbs become corrupted and what
should work won't. Potential work around - do anything you need to do
with the solid model in the separate models (loads, meshing etc) create
components if you want and then merge the models.

Subject: [Xansys] Merging two DB files

Hi all,

I want to have two Ansys DB files. I wanted to transfer one file data
to another and still maintain the geometric and element coonectivity.

Exporting using CDB files, doesnot maintain the geometric and element
associtivitiy?

Can some one help how to do it in Ansys?

If it is not possible, Can Ansys take it up in their next release of
Ansys.

Regards,

Kamalakar
