Hi Peter,

For 1. You can look into the path commands For 2. You can look into the *vput command

Howdy,

I have posted this question on the ANSYS communities about a month ago with no response.
http://www1.ansys.com/customer/wb/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=2830&PN=3 - if anyone is interested in pictures which might help visualise the problem. Hopefully someone here might be able to help.

Summary:
1. Is it possible in the APDL to retrieve stress values etc for an arbitrary point in space (like WB probe or query)?
2. Is it possible to contour a model based on user calculated nodal values?

Goal: Automate fatigue assessment of cyclic symmetric (geometry not loading) rotary models (e.g. drums etc). Currently I am analysing these items by including edges at the points of interest to obtain the stress profile(s) over the range (0-180
