Yes please restrict it to member addresses because if Xansys starts
sending actual spam our company spam filter will recognize that and shut
off the address.

Hey guys,

I've been messing with the spam filter. We've implemented a Bayesian
filter, which is essentially a learning algorithm. I've trained it with
ham (i.e., non-spam) from the archives and every time spam gets through,
I use that to train the filter. But it takes some time to learn and
filter effectively.

One alternative is to deny all posts from non-member addresses. That's
how the new server was set up initially, and it worked really well. Do
list members really post that often from non-member addresses? Would
anyone object to a default-deny policy?

Thanks,

Jason

I have started receiving a trickle of spam supposedly coming from the
xansys mailing list. Gotten 3 so far in the last 10 minutes or so.
Getting through the local spam filter too. Anybody else getting some
spam?

Regards,
Chris
