Dear Harini,
I think rather than trying to specify the stiffness properties as
paramters, ply angles has to be optimised.

Dear Nithya Harini,

As a Classic ANSYS user I am unable to offer advice on Workbench.
However, I am not surprised to hear that this is not an option for an
orthotropic material. You need to also specify Poisson's ratios - PRXY,
PRYZ, and PRXZ. See the Theory Manual 2.1.1 and also note the
distinction between "major" and "minor" Poisson's ratios. But most
importantly, note the requirement for a positive definite matrix (see
also Theory Manual 13.5). Therefore, one can not arbitrarily specify
the properties for an orthotropic material, so setting them up as
parameters is probably not all that useful.

Subject: [Xansys] Parameterizing Orthotropic Material in Workbench

Hello Everyone,

I am trying to run a material property optimization for a composite
structure.

I want to parameterize Ex, Ey, Ez, Gxy, Gyz and Gxz Values.

I am able to parameterize the Youngs' Modulus value for an isotropic
material.

But for an Orthotropic Material, no checkbox appears to enable
parameterizing.

Please let me know if orthotropic material property values can be
parameterized. If yes, please provide me the direction to proceed.

Regards,
Nithya Harini.H
