Author: Martin Liddle Date: 2008-04-18 06:28:19Since we moved XANSYS to our own server five years ago, we have had a policy of removing all attachments (with the exception of ASCII text (allowing log files to be sent)). This has been done for a number of reasons:
To prevent transmission of possible virus laden material.
To keep individual postings and the XANSYS archive to a reasonable size.
To make people think before posting.
However it is true that a picture is worth a thousand words and the Mailman software gives us a lot of control over what is filtered.
