There are few links with flotran natural convection:

In natural convection start with small g value helps (may be in some
tools only) to converge faster...

Subject: [Xansys] water properties for Flotran

I am using Flotran and I am doing a natural convection problem with
water. I am getting a negative density error message. One problem could
be the coefficients for the LIQUID option in Flotran. Does any one have
the coefficients for water density for the LIQUID option in Flotran? I
looked through the VM files and found none.

Thanks
