If you sort this out could you please post it back to the list?

This is a limit that myself and other co-workers have run into before. It would be nice to have a workaround.

Manfred,

Have your Channel Partner contact tech support at ANSYS HQ. That will bubble up to development and they may be able to help you.
I think the -lm option tells whatever ANSYS you are running to use the DLL's in the ANSYSLM directory... but I'm not sure.

Eric

Subject: [Xansys] UPF and -lm (Large Memory executable)

Hi,

Ansys 11 supports more than 16 GB sparse solver memory on Windows X64.
It's activated with a special "-lm" option on the ansys command line.
If I understand it correctly, it's implemented with a special ansys executable (at least there is a .../bin/winx64/ansyslm/ directory on my computer. It contains a copy of all .DLLs and ansys110.exe. A few .dll files and the executable differ from the files in .../bin/winx64/).

Now my question: We use a usercreep.f.
Has anyone created an executable that contains an UPF and that supports -lm?
If yes - how? There is no option in ANSCUST.bat, and my ASD couldn't help me :-(

If it's not possible: Are there any plans to add support for this combination?

Thanks for any hints,
Manfred Spraul
