Further to the conversation on how to mesh the cylinder --

Curve-sided Solid95 or Shell93 elements will probably be a better choice
than the flat-sided Solid45 or Shell63 elements in representing a
thin-walled cylinder, if curve-sided tet elements are not employed. If
the meshing with flat-sided shell elements is not controlled so that
elements align with circumferential and longitudinal lines along the
cylinder, there will probably be endless warnings about warped element
shapes. Degraded results may be seen if flat-sided elements are not very
small. Nonlinear buckling convergence will likely be affected, too.

Depending on the kind of accuracy sought, it may be desired to place
shell elements at the position of the mid-plane of the cylinder -- this
introduces extra work in a complex model.
