Puneet,

ANSYS claims the reduced stiffness matrix is exact. When I attempted
substructuring for a static problem involving contact, I got different
contact forces at the interface. I recommend you check your results
carefully against a non-substructured analysis.

I just implemented substructuring in one of my structural dynamic
simulations, and it’s running
much much faster now. Results look good too. It seems too good to be
true. So what’s the catch?
