Subject: [GEN] *MOPER Command Question
Author: Ricardo Moraes

To all:

I have a general question on the *moper command. ANSYS manual gives the
following explanation:

*MOPER,ParR,Par1,Oper,Par2,Par3,Kdim,--,Kout

I have interest when the field Oper = MAP and my question involves the
interpolation criteria Kdim. ANSYS manual also gives the following
explanation:

Kdim = 2 or 0, two dimensional interpolation is applied (surface)
Kdim = 3, three dimensional interpolation is applied (volume)

In terms of equations, how does ANSYS treat a 2-D from a 3-D interpolation
scheme? If Par1 and Par3 are simply x,y,z locations in space, with no nodal
information or connectivity, how can ANSYS distinguish between surface and
volume? Why I cannot use Kdim=3 even for surfaces? Can someone highlight the
differences between those approaches?
