The error message that I get is:
---------
A routine attempted to malloc a size that is too large for this platform.
Items requested: 2025236176, item size: 4
ERROR: could not get the task list
-----------
Seems like a machine problem. I have 2GB Ram with 8GB Swap space. Incidently
my W2K machine takes max of 1400 MB Database space ( -m option). A colleague
of mine has similar m/c but that takes only 1100 MB thro’ -m option. Still
we have been able to read .rst files 4.5GB Big (buffernig or paging..).

Looks like I have to solve again in multiple rst files ( through
/congig,fsplit,nblocks or otherwise) taking care that my .rst file created
isn’t larger than 4 GB.

Thanks everyone, especially Mr Ronnie Thomas.

Pankaj

Pankaj,
a colleague of mine recently dealt with a 10-GB .rst coming from an
harmonic analysis. He had no problem.
