Subject: difference between 5.5 and 5.4 on thermal analysis
Author: Vincent Raillard
Date: 1998-12-17 02:52:00I'm really fed up with new releases of ANSYS.
Between the 5.3 and 5.4 (the first release, UP 082897), I obtain 50 degrees
difference on a transient thermal analysis using the same input file.
Neither my ASD nor ANSYS Inc gave me any explanation. Since it has worked
well (idem 5.3) since the first service pack were installed (UP october or
november 97) I did not ask anymore explanations.
Today, I have again the same problem even if the difference is about 8
degrees. I think that the cause is the radiation matrix50 superelement
generation because when I re-use the superelement calculated with the 5.4
and I get the same results. So, is there any improvement for the generation
of the radiation superelements or should I wait for the next service pack
to get the same results as in 5.4.
