Sorry, I forgot to finish my thought with Tom before asking Sheldon a
question.
Tom,
The reason I am asking you to try your macro in version 6 is to see what you
think about the mapping results versus new versions.

Subject: RE: [Xansys] Ansys 8.0 *MOPER Error
Tom,
I had reported an error with the *MOPER map command when switching from 6.0
to new versions (6.1 - 7.1). Apparently a change was made (confirmed by
Sheldon). Results I had with the command in 6.0 looked better compared to
newer versions. Also mapping CFD results onto an airfoil. I was told that
in version 8.0 the *MOPER map function would work more like 6.0. I was
really looking forward to the 8.0 release. I keep 6.0 on my computer solely
for the purpose of using the *MOPER command.
Would it be possible for you to run your macro in version 6 and version 7.1
or 6.1? I archive my models and read them into 6.0 for the mapping
operation and then write a load step file.
Sheldon,
If you read this can you confirm what Tom is mentioning? Has ANSYS changed
something else now?

Subject: [Xansys] Ansys 8.0 *MOPER Error
No question, just information on an error I reported to tech support.
I ran into two errors mapping data with the *MOPER command in 8.0,
neither of which occur in 7.0 or 7.1. The first error is that the *MOPER
command with the MAP option no longer maps data for all of the points.
For kOut = 0, it should map results interpolated outside of the region,
but it doesn’t. I sent an example of incomplete data mapping on an
airfoil to tech support and they confirmed the error. The second error
occurred when mapping multiple surfaces in one mapping operation - for
example, mapping the suction and pressure sides of an airfoil at the
same time. In this example, some of the points on the pressure side were
mapped with data from the suction side. The mapping operation worked
correctly in 7.0 & 7.1, but in 8.0 several points were mapped from the
wrong side.
