As a concusion, everything, that has been discussed so far only can save time
in shortening the actual time needed for writing the core file in the case of
fatal errors.

How can Elan LM, however, be told to release the license immediately, after
Control C or killing the ANSYS process (on Unix machines) via kill proc id.
This would be very useful for those people working with the command line: just
kill it in case of some problems (e.g. convergence problmes) and fire off the
next job WITHOUT shutting down and restarting the license manager.

Flex LM, as far as I can
rememmber, did not behave that restrictive.
