Your system administrator can create something called a "wheel group". Those users in the wheel group can then kill an ANSYS license without becoming a super user. This is detailed in the ANSYS installation guide.

On my OSF1 DIGITAL Unix machine I could not find any reference to this command! I'm not a unix "guru" ;-) is this standard ? or available only on some unixes ?
And anyway, I would like to know how to get my licence back AT ONCE, not waiting 5 minutes that the licence manager realizes the crash. Becoming superuser, and using ans_admin to shutdown the LM and boot it again could be a solution, but not very practical...
