Subject: Feature or bug? (Re: ANSYS License Manager)
Author: ZLu ZLU@
Date: 1999-09-27 17:46:00Thanks Jason for the work around. I tried it and it work great.!
The discussion remained me one more thing: When I was using ANSYS 5.4 (on
Windows NT4.0), I used to close my output window when it was not needed buy
click on the "x" button at its upper right corner. I it was OK and I only
needed to go to "MenuCtrls" to re-active it. Since using ANSYS 5.5, my
habit had cost my so many "crashes" which I had to wait several minuets then
recover form where I were. If the output window become so critical to
ANSYS and close it is not an appropriate way to exit ANSYS (I did not what
to exit at all), why leave the close window button active while gray out the
button for graphics window?

The following recovers an aborted job quickly on a NT system if you have
administrator privileges:
start > programs > ansys5.5 > ansys_admin_utility
Click 'display license status'.
Click 'run licensee manager utility'.
Wait about 5 seconds, then click on 'bury client'.
Now you are ready to run again.
