I think that is the maximum of the ratio between two different elements of
the stiffness matrix. Either the structure is at certain locations much
stiffer than at the others, or you use beams or shells with improper length
units so the ratio between translatory and rotary stiffness is too high and
the stiffness matrix is ill conditioned. I'd rather use the sparse or
frontal solver . The ratio 1e8 shouldn't be a problem for them, while the
iterative solvers can not deal with ill conditioned matrices.
