I understand your statement. I personally haven't used Abacus, but what the
experts here have responded with matches what I have heard about the
program.

Enjoy

hello David

We are not aplannig to purchase other software. I am doign well with
Ansys/Mechanical. I just weant to know the difference, the strong point and
weak point of individual commercial FEA software. That is all.

Liang,

You have posted a couple of questions about comparing ANSYS to using other
FEA programs. Are you comparing them to see which one you want to pursue?
Or?

Every FEA program has its advantages and disadvantages. It all depends on
what kind of analysis that you are going to conduct and how accurate do you
want the results. I personally have had the opportunity to work on several
different programs including Mechanica and Algor (because that is what that
company used at that time). What I have discovered over the years is that I
keep coming back to ANSYS for its versatility and accuracy. It isn't
perfect, but it has definitely been sufficient for my work analyzing
structures in fields ranging from underwater robotics to MEMs.

Hi, Shao Min

I think it should be spelled as 'ABAQUS', rather than 'ABACUS'.
