Subject: Re: *GET command, mass of axisymmetric models

Hi,
According to ansys help, under Solution items, if IRLF,1 or IRLF,-1, was
run,then
*get,parm,elem,0,mtot,{x,y,or z} will get the total mass components in X,
Y, or Z.

I have used this some time ago, but not on an axisymmetric model
The mass here should be based on elements in model. (does it include the
2*pi effect??? )
You can check against mass summary printed in output file

You could use the IRLF,-1 command before you solve or psolve, and then you
can review the mass by using the IRLIST command... But that won't get the
mass into a parameter like the *get command will if that's what you're
shooting for.

Anyone happen to know the details of the *GET command to get the mass
calculated for an axisymmetric model during a modal analysis? Doing a
*GET after an ASUM in PREP7 assumes unit depth.....
