Hello Monte,

We started using HP C3000s, which replaced HP C200s and most our Digital DEC
Alpha 500s, with 1.5GB RAM and two 18 GB drives about two months ago. We run
Pro/Engineer, Pro/Mechanica, ANSYS and Ideas also with HP-UX B10.20 without
any service patches. We did not run into any major problems like yours,
however, our ANSYS software and license manager reside on a DEC and the
ANSYS was installed for the HP. The swap space was configured at 1.8GB and
the Kernel did get rebuilt by our system guys when the C3000s arrived. Let
me know, If you need more information about the Kernel parameters and other
configurations.

Good Luck.

I just got a new HP C3000 with 2GB RAM to replace an HP C240 with 1.5GB RAM.
Does anyone have any experience with it? Because of UG being loaded on the
box, it has to use HP-UX B 10.20 rather than the available 64 bit O/S. So
far I'm getting aritmetic exceptions, bus errors, etc. at varying times
within a run. I've tried running a nonlinear benchmark model that has been
run on IBM and the earlier HP platforms. ANSYS crashes on the C3000 when
the model is run.

Thanks, Monte
