I´m trying to simulate a casting Problem. For the thermal contact between mould and casting radiation is used, for structural contact the contact element conta170. The thermal solution works good, the convergence of the structural solution strongly depends on the constraint equations. If no movement of the model boundaries are allowed, the problem converges relatively fast. If the gravity option is used (with coupled movement of the boundary nodes) the solution doesn´t converge, the error message:
DOF (e.g. Displacement) limit exceeded at time ... Maximum value .... Limit.... my be due to an unrestrained or unstable model
occurs. Also the contact element status changes often from contact to no contact, which should not be possible. Can I formulate the gravity option at contact in a way that I don´t get these error messages?
