I have seen this error message before. My problem was a corrupted Coons patch area which somehow not detected by the mesher. What I end up doing was delete the volume (but not the entities below) associated with this corrupted area and the area itself. Then reconstructed the missing surface by several Coons patch areas as well as the solid (I obtained the original geometry from ANSYS's Parasolid interface). Also see if you can view the suspect area properly with "/facet,norml" If not, I'm pretty sure you have the same problem. Hope this help.

I get the following error when trying to mesh a volume. I have tried changing the mesh density but get this error every time. Can anyone tell me what is causing it and how to get around it?
*** ERROR *** CP= 205.410 TIME= 14:24:02 Volume 9 cannot be meshed. A gap between triangle facets on the boundary exist. Check line 20.
I have looked at line 20 and can find nothing wrong. There is clearly something screwy with the geometry but I can't find it. I had been trying to add some pretension elements and goofy things kept happening so I decided to remesh the volume. After clearing the solid 92 elements from the volume, I can now not mesh at all.
I'm using 5.6.1.
Thanks.
