In effect the substructure 'appropriated' the generated nodes. I suspect
the effect was the same as trying to couple non-coincident nodes. I don't
think it's an inconsistency--sounds like you had non-unique node numbers
betrween the substructure MDOF and the AMESH-generated nodes.
