I go along with your reservations about the powergraphics and /edge
algorithm. I overlooked that, may be because I work mainly with shells and
since most are orthogonal, the default /edge angle works for me. In the end,
however, I always extract final stress results by selecting the part of
interest, avoiding any averaging/discontinuity problems. Call me old
fashioned, but I don't trust a nice picture.

As you say, there seems to be a glitch in the /edge algorithm. In my book,
whenever more than two shells meet, there has to be an edge, no matter what
the angles are. I know, but what if one is looking at the continuous side of
a T-joint? - As I think you suggested in an earlier posting, graphics
settings for nice presentation should be kept separate from settings for
result extraction.
