No rating yet Subject: Optimizing section capacity Author: Yaser Jaradat Date: 2002-06-06 02:11:00I have built up section of SHELL99 or SOLD46. The sections are built up in a form of a column. I want to optimize the section for maximum load capcity. I used the fiber orientation angles in the sections as DV and the maximum stress and strain criteria as teh SV and the inverse of the load which I want to maximize as th OBJ. Since this load is not calculated withing Ansys I didnt' get any results. The load is in an input on nodes, for example F, all,Fy,-1 where "all" for the selected nodes. How can I optimize the section capacity using these parameters ? Does the load work as a OBJ ? any other suggestions ?
Also in other cases I have to fix the fiber orientation angles and just calcualte the section maximum capacity. i.e. I want to get the highest load to be carried within my failure criteria ?
