Subject: Re: ANSYS 5.5.1 License Problem

I started using ANSYS 5.5.1 two days ago installed on a new Ultrasparc using
Solaris 5.6 with all recommended patches installed. I have had the two
interactive sessions crash with the message:

Server XXXXXXX: No license file found for feature.

The first job crashed after the completion of the solution sequence. The run
took 1 hr 30 min to solve but, as I had left it to run overnight, I do not
know when the crash happened., however ANSYS must have been idle at the
time.
The second job, which aborted due to exceeding the displacement limit, was
probably idle when it crashed.

I assume that, as the License Manager installed with 5.5.1 also is used by
5.4, I will have similar problems with the earlier version -- I have not yet
tried to use 5.4 again.

Referring to John Swanson's message of Wednesday, 16th December 1998,
Subject [xansys] License Manager, to this list, is this the same problem?

This problem appears to require urgent resolution as most of my jobs require
runs of many hours for solution.
