Subject: Re: meshing problem Author: Prasad S prasad.s@ Date: 2002-05-09 16:22:00Hi there,
As you define your problem, i thingk you have the hole in the direction of sector angle. If that is the case you can sweep mesh the volume, otherwise there is no way you can sweep mesh it.
I think it is stupid idea to play with qrienting the model just for the sake of meshing. But, there is a lot of options for area meshing. You can also use a element called as Unsolved 200 which gives you any kind of element. But it is available only in ansys56 and higher.
If you need any more help, write back.

Hi all, I am meshing a solid sector ( sector with 3rd dimension) One of the side area of the sector is parallel to global x-y plane so i am able to mesh it with shell 63 elements which i intend to extrude over the sector. but it is giving me an error. Its because the sector has a hole making it complicated. it says that u shud manually mesh the target area and then try sweeping. I tried to do so but then it is not able to mesh that side area as it is not parallel to global x-y. Can it be possible to rotate the model so that the side gets parallel to x-y plane and mesh it? then i can revert back and mesh the whole sector
Let me generalize the question asking whether i can align a certain area of a model to global x-y plane by rotating or some other way?
