You can get additional information about acceptable aspect ratios and other element shape issues if you read chapter 13.7 "Element Shape Testing" in the ANSYS Theory Reference. They say that aspect ratios up to 1000 are quite acceptable (Probably even more so if the elements are bricks with angles not too far from 90 degrees).
