Subject: [struct] Meshing problem

Hi everybody,

1) I am solving a problem on meshing a plate with large no of pits. The
pits are idealised as spheres
and they are subtracted from the plate. The problem is as the pit density
increases it incresingly
becomes difficult to mesh. The model that is generated consiste of lines
with the ratio of smallest line to
biggest line about 1e-5. It results in areas which are wedge shaped.

2) How to use smart sizing parameters.I can sometimes get the mesh when
smartsizing is set to 1(one)
i.e is very fine mesh but the no of elemnts simply shoots up to like 4
million.
3) How to use mesher controls to get the desired mesh

I have tried method where smaller lines are meshed seperately with large no
of elements
and bigger lines are meshed by default setting. Can somebody help me .Kindly
advise
