It depends on what kind of models you plan to work with. If you work
with shells alot, then I don't think you can beat the PorE and ProMESH
combination. However, we find ProMESH very poor for solid tetrahedral
work, and we are looking at other meshers to deal with this. We are
considering FEMAP and Hypermesh. Any comments or suggestions would be
appreciated.

Thanks,

Can anyone out there recommend some software to facilitate the transfer
of proe geometry to ansys for subsequent fea? I have only heard about
some packages ( e.g., ansys connection product, cadfix) but I would like
to gather info on as many as possible. I am particularly interested in
any users' hands on experiences with such software, but I'll take
anecdotal too. (I suspect ansys would only say good things about their
product, as would any vendor do, which is why I'm appealing to the
group.)

Concerning ansys connection product, why is accessing the proe geometry
better than accessing transferred iges? Is the proe (or any modeler's)
geometry itself any more "fault free" than the iges?

I am near the end of my rope with iges transfers. I would like to
approach my boss for purchase of a suitable product, and I'd like to go
in pitching the best one.

Thanks to all.
