I like the ANSYS' Connection Product for ProE - use it all the time. It
works a lot better for me than IGES. I never select the "Allow Defeaturing'
option in the Connection Product. I've found it easier to modify a model in
ANSYS without that feature than with it.

Can anyone out there recommend some software to facilitate the transfer
of proe geometry to ansys for subsequent fea? I have only heard about
some packages ( e.g., ansys connection product, cadfix) but I would like
to gather info on as many as possible. I am particularly interested in
any users' hands on experiences with such software, but I'll take
anecdotal too. (I suspect ansys would only say good things about their
product, as would any vendor do, which is why I'm appealing to the
group.)

Concerning ansys connection product, why is accessing the proe geometry
better than accessing transferred iges? Is the proe (or any modeler's)
geometry itself any more "fault free" than the iges?

I am near the end of my rope with iges transfers. I would like to
approach my boss for purchase of a suitable product, and I'd like to go
in pitching the best one.

Thanks to all.
