You might try installing Service Pac 5 for NT 4.0. I don't know whether
it will fix the problem, but it couldn't hurt.

Service Pac 4 could hurt. I installed it on my PC and got a blue screen
error. I had to reinstall the operating system. SP5 works great though.

We had the problem too,
on Intel NT4.0 with SP3. Pentium2 400 Mhz, 512 Meg Ram, SCSI, Diamond
Fire
GL1000 Pro AGP...
happened with a large model, near the end of project using (I believe)
ANSYS
5.5.1

we definetly tried ALLSEL and all the other graphics reset commands
too....
had to >EXIT and restart ANSYS often...........

Finished the project and haven't tried to diagnose the problem anymore -

though we loaded 5.5.3 since then and assumed that it fixed the
problem....

what releases of ANSYS are ya'll losing mousepick with ??? is there a
pattern ?

Unfortunately, this wasn't it. It just did it again, I issued ALLS,ALL,
and
it still would not select KP's to let me LSTR,p. Anyone else have any
ideas?

Thanx-
Brad

I occasionally will think I have this problem until I remember that I
have
deselected those entities. For example, I might deselect all keypoints
and
then
plot the lines. I will forget that keypoints are not selected and will
become
confused when I can't select a keypoint at the end of a line.

Of course, you're probably not as easily confused as I am.

James

I was wondering if anyone else came across this problem. While using
ANSYS,
the
mouse will not select any entity (Lines, Areas is all that I experienced
so
far
before restarting ANSYS) after about 30 minutes of model preprocessing.
The
mouse will still function within ANSYS to press dialog box buttons and
work
in
other applications outside of ANSYS, however, after trying several
things
from
/RESET to /GRAPHICS,Full to restarting ANSYS with different -m settings,
the
mouse will still not select entities. I'm running on the SGI Octane
under
IRIX
6.4 patched up to the April SGI patch set.
