Diego,

Have you look at the products from Therom (Sp?) Solutions
I haven't seen them around for a while but I know they
had a decent CADDS-5 to IGES tool for a while. Maybe
someone else out there has a link to their web site?

Also, have you tried the old ANSYS direct translator for
CADDS5?

Hello Markus:

The problem is that in my case CadFix is insuficient to import IGES that
comes from CADDS 5.

Regards,

Diego.

What Eric suggests, is the long and winding road, but is good
for training the character, every FEAnalyst should have walk this way
once.

If you will have to do this type of import more often,
I would suggest the following:

Assume how many hours you will need per year until you have your iges
files imported. Multiply this with your costs for the company per hour.

Show this value your boss. If you are still alive afterwards, ask him, if
you are allowed to
buy CadFix from FEGS Ltd.

This is a software, which will read your IGES files, no matter from where
and how 'bad'
they are. In Cadfix you perform the repair (mostly automatized). You always
have control
over geometric entitities which will cause import problems in IGES. So you
always know,
if the import will work in the current stage or not. Last stage is, that
Cadfix writes out
an ASCII file, which you can import to ANSYS with File/ReadInput from.

look it up: www.cadfix.com

Regards,
Markus

P.S. I do not get paid by Cadfix for this sort of e-mails.
