Sumit,

If you're doing a shell model of a T- or I-Beam, most likely you'll want
the midsurfaces of the cross section. This should cause a situation where
you actually have a gap, not a "double stiffness" or overlap.

Consider a T channel or an I channel. I use shell elements. what happens at
the juncture? wont the thickness of the 2 intersecting web and falnge cause
a double stiffness, and give wrong results? how do i avoid this?
