Ernst,

Here, here. In July 97, I attended the 5.4 ASD training in Pitt and asked
for status info on the graphics bar. Besides the info you stated, the plot
type would be logical since the legend may or may not be turned on (ie, elem
plot, area plot, volu plot, von Mises, etc.). Also I would like to have the
jobname and other "selectable" items automatically plot in the legend. And,
have Subtitles be optionally plotable. The subtitles are much easier to
manage that the annotation. More flexibility in notations would really help
the project documentation process. Another possibility might be an
automatically indexing plot control number. Already there is a time and
date stamp, so a control number would help in keeping track of the many
plots that emerge during the documentation of a complex project.

I just remembered the upcoming HTML project documentation engine. It is the
right medicine. The demo I saw was stunning. I understand that it will be
distributed in 5.5.2 and will automatically create an initial report with
plots, properties, status, etc. As shown to us during the demo, it will
fill a tremendous gap that has existed with ANSYS.

Thanks for triggering the thought process,

Monte
