One of my pet peeves for a long time. An option I've used in a macro
is to copy the entity to be divided, do the boolean, and then merge
keypoints to merge the new divided entities back with the rest of the
model.

The Ansys developers do not have the advantage of making models day
after day and may not be aware that folks subdivide models, mesh,
subdivide some more, mesh, remesh, .... an iterative process versus a
linear one.
