Stephanie,
You may be able to figure out how to get at the superelement matrices. As
a novice user, the chance of success is not good. However, superelements
attach to the rest of the structure at specific nodes. It is difficult to
change the node numbering scheme and unreasonable to attempt to change the
mesh density at the interface to the superelelement which is what it appears
you want to do.
