If the cable is on the centerline, you could model it with beam elements.
Beams can be incorporated in an axisymmetric analysis if you are careful
with you boundary conditions and loads.

Hello everyone,

I have an axisymmetric model. In the real application, the device includes
two supports joined by a cable (optical fibre). How could I include this
cable in an axisymmetric model ? The cable is initially in tension. The
cable can not support compression (tension-only behavior). What element
should I choose ?

Thank you for your hints or advice :-)
