Alexandros,
We purchased connection series for ProE and it works good in most
cases. I recently found problems with using the connection series to
transfer critical datum curve geometry that was modeled in ProE and
attached to the model part database. I used the connection series
and the datum curves never made it through. I desperately needed
this critical interface geometry on my model and resorted to the IGES
transfer using the "alte no defeature" setting with a reasonable
tolerance setting. This time the critical curves came through and
the people rejoiced.

Connection series for SolidWorks?? I don't know this software, but
the ASD sold us on the transfer of non-uniform rational b-splines.

You asked about the Ansys tools when your model gets there. I have
found that the workplane is my best friend. Also, the select
functions keep my screen clean for making picks and fixing some of
the areas that need repair or restructure.

The most experienced Ansys users write programs to generate, solve,
post process, and optimize their models sometimes with built in
parametrics. I took the "programming in Ansys" course, and someday I
will also be experienced. But, today I have to regress back to
hacking my way through my ProE initiated Ansys model with the menu
system and my best friend "the workplane".

take care,
