I agree that it is now possible to transfer and mesh highly complicated
3D models. However the amount of difficulty experienced in doing this
depends a) on the CAD system (Pro/E is good, Catia is bad, others in
between) b) how FE aware the person doing the modelling is (absence of
slivers, gaps etc).
