Subject: Re: What is the difference between IGES import and Pro/E import

Please realize that there are geometries so complicated that only a
high-level 3D modelling system has a chance of creating a
representation of it.

I have recently had a very impressive experience with PRO/E, ANSYS
and the connection product. An engineer from the company who had
hired me as a consultant had spent months creating a part of high
complexity with respect to filleted, interlaced channels. Then,
however, kernels for casting could be produced by SLA-techniques, and
it only took me a few days to obtain a suffiently clean solid model
in ANSYS. This enabled a realistic analysis to arrive (almost) in
time for another design cycle.

Best regards
Kim Ravn-Jensen
