No rating yet Subject: Load step and substeps Author: Subramanyam_Vinnakota subramanyam_vinnakota@ Date: 2000-12-01 03:07:00hi, iam doing nonlinear analysis in ansys which involves all the three kinds of nonlinearities i.e., material,contact and geometric nonlinearity. a displacement constraint of 200mm is to be applied . this iam applying single loadstep with no. of substeps (400 approx) and automatic time stepping on but iam facing convergence problem after a particular substep. i would like to know wil it make any difference if apply the displacement in no. of load steps having substeps or single load step with no of substeps will this lead to convergence
