Best way is to keep a copy of your log file, cleaned up to eliminate things like plotting commands and mistakes. You can also write off your solid model in a neutral format like IGES or with the /CDWRITE command.
Keep copies of the db and results files if you must, but realize that they probably aren't going to be readable a few versions (either ANSYS versions or OS versions) down the line. And making changes to the model db file can be a huge pain in the ass. They also take up a lot of storage space.
