Subject: Re: Different colors in result plot on screen and captur ed image

Markus;

The /sho,jpeg path is different from the "PlotCtrls -> HardCopy -> ToFile"
path. The latter is just capturing the pixels from the graphics window and
hence is subject to the color map of /SHOW,WIN32 or /SHOW,OGL.

/sho,jpeg causes the plot to be completely redrawn into the JPEG file
by processing graphics primitives like lines, areas, and text. These
are all subject to the color map chosen for /sho,jpeg, which is not
necessarily the same as the color map used in /SHOW,WIN32 or /SHOW,OGL.
Color maps of distinct graphics drivers are often different!

Can you forward me a sample input file?

Markus,

I don't have particular knowledge with /show,jpeg or with NT but
I did run into a similar problem with the colors of contour bands
when using the standalone DISPLAY program and making postscript plots.

Resolved the problem by making sure I had 256+ colors specified.
Use "pscr, color, 2" or check your color settings under the menu
utility/plotctls/redirect-plots.

hallo all,

I am using ANSYS 5.6 on Windows NT 4.0. Yesterday I discovered something
strange. There were some differences in the colors between the result plot
an my sreen and the automaticaly captured images with /SHOW,JPEG from an
input file. First I checked the JPEG settings, but they are OK. If I capture
the image manualy through PlotCtrls -> HardCopy -> ToFile, then the picture
looks like the same as on my screen. The image with /SHOW,JPEG uses a yellow
color instead of the orange on the screen.
Has anyone an idea what had happened?
