Subject: constraint equations to connect solid and shell element -Reply

See the CERIG command which will generate exactly the kind of constrain
equations you're after. As far as I know, this will only work well with mapped
meshes because it is easier to maintain a one-to-one relationship between the
nodes of the shell and the nodes of the volume.
As far as the mid-side nodes go, it would be best if the shell elements that
are adjacent to the solid elements did not have the midside nodes along the
boundary. I haven't tried this, but I believe if you mesh the lower order
entity (the volume in this case) first, then mesh the areas with the higher
order elements, the shell elements will not get midside nodes at the boundary.

hi friends,
I want to ask for the constraint equations to connect solid
and shell element for transfering the moment from shell to
solid element if this's possible ?
And when we've a mid node in the shell and not in the
solid, what we've to do for solving this problem ?
